What is Meniere's Disease?

          Meniere’s Disease, also known as endolymphatic hydrops, refers to a state of excessive fluid within the endolymphatic space.  It is a problem with the fluid balance regulating system in the inner ear.  Meniere’s Disease is defined as the symptom complex of episodic vertigo (sensation of spinning or whirling), tinnitus (hissing, roaring or ringing), fluctuating hearing loss, and aural pressure (feeling of fullness or pressure).  All these symptoms form a pattern which makes up “Classical Meniere’s Disease.”
