The Scar and Colour Fun!

INTRODUCTION

Harry Potter was a highly unusual boy in many ways. For one thing, he hated the summer holidays more than any other time of the year. For another, he really wanted to do his homework but was forced to do it in secret, in the dead of night. And he also happened to be a wizard.

The Harry Potter books are amazing. Try as I might, I can think of no other words to describe them. And it is not just the characters or the plot that makes it so fantastic; it’s the tone, humor, and realness that make this book rock. Like no other books, these have the ability to let you read it over and over (and over!) again and not get sick of it. When I first started reading Harry Potter (in January of 2000) I had no idea what all this craziness was about. There was even an article published about the series in TIME magazine. I remember my stepdad handing the article to me, and when I finished I tossed the magazine aside and said, "Yeah, I’ll read it." Lucky, that at the same time, one of my best friends had just finished the series, and was rereading them all. One Friday afternoon (before school was let out) I took the book from her, and I literally didn’t stop reading it until Saturday morning. And then I preceded to read the second and third. By Tuesday, I had finished the third book, and was just as crazy (if not crazier) about them as everyone else was.

The thing about these books, is not that you can’t put them down, it’s that they are so enjoyable that you don’t want to.

When you open up a Harry Potter book, you are instantly in a world where anything can happen. Where the word "evil" takes on a whole new meaning, and magic is just a flick of the wand. It is the wonderful, extraordinary, remarkable, amazing, and enchanting world of Harry Potter.

Site History

Back in the summer of 2001, I got bored one day and decided to make a Harry Potter website. I started out using a free-service called Moonfruit, which required no HTML, and was a drag-and-drop website creator. Soon after that, Moonfruit began charging, so I moved to another free-service called Kiwitown. Shortly after I joined, Kiwitown stopped allowing pictures, and that was no good. Then, I decided to try Angelfire and began to learn HTML. Slowly, I figured it out and created a cute little website, which can be seen here (keep in mind it hasn't been updated since the first movie came out, but it's cute). Then, I decided to move to a free domain that had a shorter address. That is this site.

All of those moves and transfers occured in one, long, headache of a summer. However, once school started, I abandoned my website and got involved with friends, guys, and oh, yeah, schoolwork. Last summer I updated and revived this baby a little bit, but now I'm going all out. I want my site, to for once, have visitors, as I have worked so hard to get this thing up and running. So, I'm calling this a new site, with a lot of history. The fact that you are reading this makes me feel successful.
