Mary GrandPreUS Cover Artist

Mary GrandPre was born in South Dakota. She began drawing when she was 5 years old, and even back then added a magical touch to her drawings. Besides Harry Potter, Mary GrandPre has drawn lots of other children's book covers, and even drew six landscapes for animators to reference while working on Dreamworks animated film, Antz. On the FAQ section of her website, Mary says that her favorite Harry Potter cover to draw was the fourth cover. On this cover, she was finally allowed to illustrate him close-up. She says that he is such a fascinating character and really enjoys bringing him to life. Also, in case you didn't know, Mary has met JK Rowling and her daughter, Jo. Mary says that JK Rowling was wonderful to talk to and was very complimentary and appreciative of Mary's work. Mary even got an autographed copy of the first three books! I am so jealous, how about you? The Unofficial Harry Potter Fan Club reports that Steve, Mary's cousin says this when asked about Mary: "As kids growing up together, it was quite clear to me and all of her family members that her artistic talents were indeed great.... Needless to say we are very proud of her accomplishments. Thanks." For more information about Mary, you can visit her Official Site or Mary GrandPre.Com to view more of her AMAZING work!
