An acrobat catching five bowls, stacked inside each other, on top of his head after flipping them off the end of the plank he's standing on. His plank is balanced on a metal tower on the shoulders of another acrobat, who's also balanced on a plank and roller. Amazing. |
Our last night in Beijing was spent admiring the amazing acrobatic feats of a Chinese circus troupe. We then took a train south to the old city of Suzhou (near Shanghai), famous for its classical Chinese gardens, the height of Chinese elegance. |

The Zhuozheng Yuan, or Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest of the famous Suzhou gardens, full of little pavilions and walkways and bowers. And tourists, by the thousand. |
A street stall selling "painted-on-the-inside" glass botttles that had Joanne oohing and aahing. |
