What's Power Pop?

My absolute favorite musical genre is power pop. The All Music Guide describes it as "a cross between the crunching hard rock of the Who and the sweet melodicism of the Beatles and Beach Boys, with the ringing guitars of the Byrds thrown in for good measure."

I'd define it as any guitar-oriented pop that has a catchy melody 

and makes you feel good inside.
