The German Language School Concordia
in Kitchener is the largest Saturday German School in Canada.
It is a part of the Waterloo Region District
School Board and its curriculum adheres to the "Leitfaden" of the Federal
Republic of Germany as well as to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education
of Ontario.
There are over 600 students taught by 35 teachers
and educational assistants.
Classes take place in two schools:
Crestview Public School
from Kindergarten to grade 5
Grand River Collegiate
from grade 6 - 8, grade 9 - 12/OAC and adults
Each grade level has two separate streams.
The German stream is for students who have
a working
knowledge of the German language at home.
The English stream is for those who do
not use the
German language at home.
