My Children Martha Ellen Baird b 5 Jan 1971 Martha has a God given talent for singing. She has done several solo's at our church, Victory Family Church, in Decatur, TX. I remember the first time she sang for other than the immediate family. Martha was 4 years old and we were in the waiting room of the hospital, where we had taken her grandmother Baird for a checkup. She sang "Love Lifted Me". When she had finished the song, those in the waiting room applauded her and one elderly gentleman gave her a dollar bill. Martha is now a married woman and has one child born January 27, 2000 (two months premature) * * * * * * * * * * Thomas Charles Baird II b 18 Feb 1973 Thomas has a God given talent for figures. And he is blessed with what you might call a photographic memory. Just the other day at work, the ladies I work with and I were talking about how many presidents our country has had. I didn't know how many we'd had, and neither did any of the other ladies, but I knew how to find out. I e-mailed Thomas, and within 20 minutes, he had e-mailed me back with all of their names, in order strictly from memory. Thomas is attending the University of Texas at Arlington, with a academic scholarship. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He has a great future ahead of him. * * * * * * * * * * Joseph Taylor Baird b 27 Feb 1975 d 23 Jun 1975 Joseph was 2 months premature. He was very tiny at 3 lbs 4 ozs. Because of his prematurity, he had an intestinal infection which caused scaring in his intestines. As food passed through his intestines, the scar tissue would swell and create a blockage. By the time the doctors realized what was happening, he was too weak to withstand the surgery needed to correct the problem. He had 3 surgeries in 10 days, and died of a brain hemorrage. Joseph was at home with us for about a month before he went back into the hospital. I know that he is in Heaven with the Lord, and that I will see him again. * * * * * * * * * * Jacob Edward Baird b 27 Feb 1975 d 25 Dec 1997 Jacob was 2 months premature. He was also very tiny at 3 lbs 12 ozs. He also had an intestinal infection. His infection was not found as soon as his brother Joseph's. His intestines burst before it was discovered. He had emergency surgery where the infected part of the intestine was removed. Three days after this, both of Jacob's lungs collapsed at the same time. Against all odds, Jacob lived to be 22 years old. He was a very loving and caring person. He was probably the most unselfish person I have ever known. Jacob is in Heaven now, with his brother Joseph. I look forward to seeing them both again. I got to know Jacob here on this earth, and I miss him more than words can say. Please look at each of my children's pages |
