After riding 2500 miles on bicycles the Lord is saying, "Stop! I have a plan for you to accomplish here in Guaymas." We are trusting Him to provide and complete that which He has laid on our hearts to do here.
Our vision for Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico is to live among the people, sharing the reality of Christ and our lives with them, meeting their physical and spiritual needs without the pressure of religion; Just helping them to grow in their relationship with Him in a simplistic and relaxed atmosphere.
We have acquired a house in the neighborhood that God has laid on our hearts. We will be renting this house for our family to live in and to begin to reach out from. We will be moving in the first week of March.
Our next step will be to acquire the two pieces of property that are for sale adjacent to the house. The one directly adjacent is a vacant lot and the other has a small unfinished building on it. The usage of this property will be as follows:
A storage and distribution center for clothing and food.
A covered, outdoor meeting facility (all purpose facility--Engilish classes, arts & crafts, music classes, outreaches, barbecues, etc.)
A basketball court
Future plans for the Outreach Center include acquiring and developing the property directly across the street from the house. The usage of this property will be as follows:
Commercial kitchen and dining hall
Discipleship home (A place where several families can live, while being discipled and encouraged to be able to make it on their own with the help of Christ)
Housing and RV hookups for ministry teams from the states.
