| It all hinges on a basic concept of space called point of view and vanishing point, the lines in the ceiling help show off this concept. You basically have a vanishing point at the flash center in the pic that radiates out illustrated by the red lines. The curvature of the lens in the camera correlates with the vanishing point, which is why "orbs" fall in line perfectly with linear perspective vanishing lines/points (lens refraction is also a main cause for orbs appearing). |
