Here is another example of how shutter speed and movement can effect photos.  With this particular camera set on 'night shot' (as well as standard cameras), the shutter stays open for a longer period of time.  Since it was so dark where we were shooting, the shutter stayed open long enough for the person holding a flashlight to move from their original stance.   It then actually captured the scene as a form of double exposure displaying the first and second stance in the same photo.
