Commentary on Tea Bashing
After visiting numerous message boards while surfing online, I have come across many bashings made to these characters. Most bashings consist of "I hate he or she". But some does get violent. Everyone has their favorite and least favorite characters. To dislike someone for a certain reason is okay. But to downright bash someone for no apparant reason is just rude, especially when these characters didn't do anything to deserve these bashings in the first place.
Tea bashing is the most common kind of bashing on the message board. People hate her for many reasons. Some say she is annoy because of all the friendship speeches she made. Others say she steals Yami/Yugi away from them. Now, Tea says those friendship speeches for a reason. She is trying to remind all of us the importance of friendship. Whenever she makes one, it is for a good reason. For example, she emphasized friendship alot when she dueled Mai to win starchips for Yugi. She did it because Yugi is withdrawing himself from all of his friend and Tea feels it is important to let Yugi know that all of his friends are right beside him. About the Yami/Yugi stealing accusations. Yugi does like Tea. It has been obvious through out the show and through out most of the manga. So it wouldn't be fair to say Tea stole Yugi away because it was Yugi who had a crush on her first. Tea does have a crush on Yami. During the fourth season, it seems that Yami does sort of like Tea back (the train scene, for example). So if they both like each other, Tea shouldn't take all the blame for "stealing" Yami's heart, don't you think so? Tea also happens to the be one of the strongest female characters on the show, and there isn't many females (Mai and Rebecca are the only other two who appears regularly). She works hard to pursue her dreams of becoming a dancer and she is brave enough to still believe in all of her friends, especially Yugi, even when the odds are stacked against them.
