Stage Three: The Church

After they crossed the bridge, everything was quiet. Suddenly, a sharp scream pierced through the silent air. Heidis stopped and turned to Max, ¡§Something must have happened. Let¡¦s go check it out.¡¨

They followed the source of the sound. They dashed into the church, just quick enough to see Beta leapt at the defenseless girl. Max and Heidis then stepped forward and helped fought Beta off. Beta ignored the injured girl and attacked the three intruders instead.

BOSS BATTLE: BETA DE LA KOTZ

Beta¡¦s attacks are magic-oriented, and she uses non-elemental magic (that is, not fire, water, earth, nor wind). There¡¦s no advantage over her if you use elemental magic. You may also notice her big claws. If you get too close to her, she will slap you with her far-too-big hands, or scratch you with her long nails. She has a fast refill speed, and she tends to drain out one of the member of your party first before she moves onto the next target. She has a rather deadly attack (if you¡¦re not prepared for it), which will instantly drain the HP of a member to 1. If you don¡¦t take care, she will slay the poor injured member in the next move.

In order to win, a strategy must be used. Heidis and Max can attack as usual, but Ponnie¡¦s magic-attacks post little threat on her. So, my advice is to use Ponnie as the healer in your team to cure whoever Beta selected to be the goner. (Don¡¦t get me wrong, but you should be happy if Ponnie is chosen, because Heidis and Max can attack without being weakened.) Beta¡¦s HP isn¡¦t very long, and the battle might be over sooner than you expect.

After a long battle, she was drained of energy and she transformed back into her old self¡Xthat weak, helpless young woman in chains. She laid on the pastor¡¦s stand and cried out, ¡§Please save me¡K¡¨

¡§We¡¦re not gonna fall for this.¡¨ Heidis replied and ignored Beta in her ¡¥suffering¡¦.

The girl in black coat managed to get up. When she saw Heidis, she could call her name without hesitation, ¡§Heidis?¡¨
When Heidis saw her face, she was astonished. This girl was exactly who the little alien girl tried to show them. ¡§Who are you?¡¨ she asked, alerted, ¡§How do you know my name?¡¨

¡§I¡¦m Yisa Locke Breaker.¡¨ The girl in black replied, ¡§I¡¦m the lock breaker of PN Centre.¡¨

The little alien girl had already rushed to Yisa¡¦s side and embraced her, ¡§Yisa!¡¨ and she started to weep.
¡§So,¡¨ Heidis was relieved, ¡§this little girl¡¦s been looking for you.¡¨
¡§What¡¦s the matter, Ponnie?¡¨ Yisa asked the alien gently. Ponnie started telling Yisa a great deal of things which nobody could understand but Yisa. Heidis watched as Yisa¡¦s face became pale, ¡§What? Your villagers have been killed? Why? Who did this?¡¨

Ponnie shook her head. She didn¡¦t know.

Yisa needed a moment to calm herself down. She tried to comfort Ponnie by assuring her that, ¡§I won¡¦t let any harm come across you.¡¨

Heidis was amazed. Had she heard wrong? Yisa wanted to protect Ponnie from harm? How? If the she and Max hadn¡¦t arrived just in time, Yisa could have perished by now. How could she protect Ponnie if she could not even protect herself? Heidis tried to be helpful, ¡§Yisa, we¡¦re all running away from the Boss¡¦s elimination. Maybe we should walk together.¡¨
Yisa was alarmed, ¡§Why? You¡¦re under elimination too?¡¨

Heidis nodded, ¡§I¡¦ll tell you about it later.¡¨

Yisa replied, ¡§Thanks, Heidis.¡¨ She turned to Max, ¡§I haven¡¦t seen you before. But thank you anyway for saving my life.¡¨
