Stage Four: Vega City/Underground City

Stage: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6......>>

Yisa had been right. The secret passage led to the entrance of the Vega City—the city of prosperity. However, they were all taken aback when they saw what remained of the city. The city was completely destroyed, as if by a fire. The road signs were broken. The buildings were burnt black and statues were shattered. Everything was torn and rotten.

“What happened?” Heidis asked, and she wasn’t expecting an answer. Her heart felt sore as she gazed at the empty city. Was it the doing of the Boss again? Where have the citizens gone?

Yisa squeezed Ponnie’s hand, “It must have been a fire hazard.”
        Heidis nodded and sighed.

Max looked around, “There’s nothing left unscathed.”

A gust of cold wind blew pass. They all shivered, not from the cold, but from the terrible truth they were facing. They stepped into the Vega City with heavy hearts.

They walked into the streets where they saw some buildings—originally shops, but they were all destroyed. They all kept silent until Ponnie suddenly screamed and disappeared under a hatch door on the ground.

“Ponnie!” Yisa didn’t think before leaping into the hatch to rescue Ponnie.

Heidis and Max hurried to their assistance, but was too late. They were left with two choices, either follow Yisa and Ponnie, or continue walking. Of course, they wouldn’t leave their new friends alone. Heidis jumped in and Max came after her. They were relieved to find Yisa and Ponnie unharmed.

It was unexpectedly bright in the world under the hatch. It was an underground water pipe system, they realized. “The water is clean,” Heidis said, “and I think it’s transporting to nearby residential areas. I think there must be a way to get back up there. Someone needs to come repair the pipes sometimes, and they can’t be trapped here forever.”
They followed the flow of the pipe water and walked a long way. They met a curious alien with which they caught up in a fight. (Finally, we have a chance to use Yisa—though she’s not a strong fighter, but she’s great to look at.) They continued walking (occasionally meeting aliens of the same species), until Yisa stopped suddenly and turned to the wall.

“I think this might be the door to another secret passage.” She gazed at the wall from roof down.

“You must be joking.” Max just couldn’t associate the brick wall with secret passages.

“I wouldn’t doubt a Breaker’s observatory powers.” Heidis said and urged Yisa, “Yisa, try opening it.”

Yisa looked closely at the wall. (You are given a chance to try out your talent! See two blocks that are different from the rest? Switch their positions. Done!) She easily opened the door and led them inside the secret passage. It was not long until they came in front of a guard tower.

Three youngsters popped out from behind the tower. A teenage girl and two boys

—one in a black shirt and the other in a white vest.
