Advanced Strategies

Now as many of you might now that I am not the best CS player. I usually can pull off a 50% round and the occassional 5:1 ratio or I can turn it around and have a 1:5 ratio. Anyway I'm still a little new I've only been playing for four months, so I personally don't know a lot of the advanced strategies, but I'll list some of the more complicated ones that I use.

Bunny Hopping: Some players can get a little pissed when you do this, but I don't know why cause it is fair and it's not really cheap, just effective. The way you pull it off is while you are jumping push the ctrl, shift, and space bar buttons at the same time and you'll perform the bunny hop. The reason it's so effective is that while you're jumping and if the enemy anticipates you to land with the bunny hop you stay in the air for about an extra half a second. This gives you time to aim and take them out and while they think you're going to land give them a headshot.

Stacking: This is a good technique that can be very useful if done right and can be very costly if done wrong. The way you start it is get to a corner in any level and crouch down, then let someone jump on top of you and then both of you wait there till someone walks by. Then you have 2 people shooting at one guy and you're practically the size of a normal player you just have a better chance of having a headshot get you. This can be useful especially if you find a good spot to use it. I prefer somewhere that you normally don't look for campers, if you were on the other team. Try and think like the other team is and you'll do much better.

Strafe Jumping: One of the most used and frustrating techniques in the game is strafe jumping. It's effective for the one using it and annoying for the one it's going against. It's very simple to pull off. If you know someone is camping behind a wall or box then a good idea is to run sideways at it and then jump right before the end of it. The enemy will probably shoot right under you and it'll leave you a free shot at them. This technique really can take a lot of practice though and I still am not very good at it. Once you can get the aim down though you can be a deadly CS player.

Anticipate: This is very important and is critical if you want to improve your CS game. If you have some I suggest playing every map a few time against bots and study the maps and learn where everyone can go and where everything is. If you do this you'll know where the T's or CT's prefer to go every game. There are really only 2 or 3 routes a team can make a level so if you just figure out where those are you'll do much better. You can also anticipate other things like when the opposing team arrives at a spot. If they go to the same spot every round pick up an HE grenade and throw it there right before they get there. If you could cut their health in half then the gun fight for your team would be much easier. I don't suggest practicing anticipating on the bots though because even on the smartest level for them they aren't really that great and don't do anything that the real cs players do.

Be confident: I guess this could be a beginner strategy, but it is pretty much a strategy for any type of player. It might not seem important to be confident in a game, but for some reason whenever I play CS with an attitude that I can kill anyone I see on the other team I seem to play better, but if I start off like 0-3 I start to feel like I can't do jack in this game and I don't stand a chance here, and then I do suck. I know some people may think this is stupid, but it's helped me a little and it might help you out a little also.
