I don't really know what it is with these beach stores but going to these places is really all about timing. The Hooters of Panama City Beach is located on Front Beach Rd. (Alt. U.S. 98) a good ways down the beach from the Hathaway Bridge. I went there during the off-season and man was this place dead... my waitress could take both of her brain cells, rub them together, and she might make a fire. So here's the deal, after my completely unsatisfying experience at dinner I went and sat at the bar with several locals (a bus load of Canadians had come down and decided to sit in the non-smoking section with me). While one of the locals was not particularly friendly (in fact he was downright abrasive), the rest were absolutely great and by the time I left they had bought me a 2000 Hooters calendar and had one of their very own calendar girls (Sarah) sign it. If you go to this one, spend a little time there... these folks don't open up right away but they're friendly once you get to know them.
