THE PRIZE there is an old story about those that reached the peak and the unparalleled glory in finding what they did seek like birds of a feather they stuck together, in any climate or weather uplifting each other the road is long the mountain is tall if we stay strong don't worry about the fall with all our eyes glued to the prize we'll make it after all . |
Understanding Sand people, Clay people, Both from the earth Every day people, Precious people Have tremendous worth Seemingly nothing in common Yet each is like a dog without a bone When they venture out on their own There remains a phenomenon Working alone, neither is quite fertile But is blessed by fortune's smile When they work hand in hand Sand people Clay people Are beginning to understand They are different from each other They need one another They can optimize their potentials By sharing the bare essentials Sand people Clay people Like a loving brother Like a caring mother Shelter one another When woes rain torrential |

WITH GENERATIONS OF HATE HELL YEAH WE REMEMBER, ALL EFFORTS TO DISMEMBER OUR GLOWING PRIDE, ATTEMPTS TO ASPHYXIATE OUR AMBITIONS. AND PUT OUT THE EMBERS WE FELL, WE STUMBLED BUT WOULD NOT CRUMBLE. YOU SEE, IRONY OF IT ALL! WE CONTINUED TO RISE, CLEARING HURDLES, BREAKING DOWN WALLS, WHILE OPENING OUR EYES TO SEE YOUR KINGDOM FALL. |

THE PRIZE (original version) Ancestors oft speak of the numerous treasures, just past yonder peaks, too distant to measure. To get that which i seek, the joy and pleasure beyond those peaks I must endure pain, Help those that are weak. When there is slow gain, i still keep my longing eyes on yonder prize. They oft speak, incessantly wise, about yonder peaks that kiss the skies. They would say "Be patient, don't cry! each new day deserves another try. It is a tough climb and hard to go forward, but in due time you will get your reward" |

Defiant So many ask The ask of me Favours to be granted when expected But any task They ask of me First contemplated, then rejected Although I am a tall tree The many years I have spent Not wanting to resent The lures of society Has brought me down on one knee While I'm being asked to repent So many ask They ask of me Again even after I neglected To do any task The ask of me Now smeared is that image once projected Another look at the tree So pressured, and is now bent The deed done, no harm meant Held high by society Raised higher so they can see Where all their efforts went So many ask They ask of me After I carefully inspected The penny task They ask of me Priceless me, won't be disrespected This tree will bend but not break So they, to mend their mistakes Will have to ask While showing respect Then we can connect To complete the task |
