A Sweeter Dragon Flame

Steady there, she appears out of a crowd and around the corner

There, moving towards me

Small but strong, this blue-eyed blond knows just what she is doing

Rich, full lips, a good strong grip--another hand she's shaking

Well known here, no need for fear,

Friends gathered all around her

If strength was all it took to rule a world, tyrants would be plenty

Dragon lairs, dead men there and prisoners abounding;

But man is not a dull machine, programmed to a certain scheme,

Fixed and ever constant

Spirit lies in hidden fires, within his breast beating--

Always shifting, yet still the same

To find her here, to see her there, meets with my approval

Resolve shines from her eyes, a sign of forward motion

And yet, and yet

Longing flickers sweeter flames--her need for love consuming

Touch me now in a gentle dance, bodies softly swaying

Around us, surrounding us, an aura of elation

Lightning strikes the strangest places, a dragon-flame of fiery life

The beast-electrons smoke within the circuitry of human mind

And seat of emotion

Fire the destroyer builds up, too; in its wake

Laying waste, leaving nutrients for budding things

To build their wings for flying

So she flies in a sky of her own choosing

Be brave today and fly my way, my one and only dragon

Wing your way, fire your flames, I bid them to consume me

A sweeter thrill I've never known than of my body groaning

For spirit-sight, sweet hidden fires--

I take my flight upon it
