Crescent Drive, formerly of Friendship-Rock Creek Road, Burlington, died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, he was born Dec. 25, 1936, to William Gladstone and Mary Bess Nicholson Isley, both deceased. He was the husband for 39 years of Barbara McAdams Isley. He was a retired farm equipment salesman with Peele Tractor, Graham Tractor, and Job P.Wyatt & Son’s Co., a former Boy Scout Troop Leader and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a former Sunday School superintendent, former president of the Lutheran Men in Mission and a former member of the church council and choir. Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Michelle Isley of Burlington; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Lonnie Nicholson of Snow Camp; two grandchildren, Lonnie Nicholson, Jr. and Jackie Nicholson; two brothers, George Isley and William Isley, both of Burlington. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. Bill Hoss, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She was retired from Burlington Industries and West Point Pepperell and was of the Baptist faith. A native Guilford County, she was the daughter of Mr. Luther Lafayette Isley Sr. and Mrs. Mary Huffines Isley, both deceased. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Mrs. Elsie Way Isley GRAHAM — Mrs. Elsie Way Isley, 101, formerly of 501 East Parker St., died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington after 6½ years of failing health, 19 days critical. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Albert Marvin Isley, who died in 1966, and the daughter of Mr. Henry Shalmon Way and Mrs. Annie Jane Overman Way, both deceased. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Alice) Pickard Jr. of Hollywood, Fla., and Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Shambley of Burlington; a son, Mr. Richard M. Isley of Graham; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ms. Della Way, Ms. Eula Way, and Ms. Joy Sykes; and five brothers, Mr. Talton Way, Mr. Dennis Way, Mr. Clarence Way, Mr. Fowler Way, and Mr. Howard Way. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife for 64 years to Mr. George R. Pickett, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. John Newton Isley and Mrs. Berta Holt Isley, both deceased. She was retired from Allsheer Hosiery in Liberty and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Clyde Hunter McPherson and the daughter of Mr. Albert L. Isley and Mrs. Maude Spoon Isley, both deceased. She was a former elementary school teacher of the Burlington City School System and the Alamance County School System. She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Randolph I. Isley and the daughter of Mr. Currie Walker and Mrs. Hattie Richmond Walker, both deceased. She was a member of the Down to Earth Club and a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was treasurer of Women of the Church for 20 years. Survivors include a son, Mr. Randolph I. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. George Ivan “Dan” Dandridge, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Charlie Isley and Mrs. Nettie Ivey Isley, both deceased. She was a secretary for Dandridge Electric Company, a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington, former president of the Women’s Circle and the Missionary Society of the church and of the P.T.A. of the Burlington School System. She attended a business college in Raleigh. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Frances Clapp Sharpe, and the son of the late Duncan Albert Sharpe and Antha Isley Sharpe. He was a graduate of E.M. Holt High School and was employed by Kayser Roth and retired from P. Lorrilard in Greensboro. Survivors in addition to his wife include a sister, Gertrude S. Oakley of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Adrian Sharpe, Jacob Sharpe, Kelly Sharpe and John Sharpe; and sisters, Thelma Sharpe, Janie S.
