The human body is full of beauty highlighted with soft tones and gentle formations. And yet, it is one of the most difficult things to capture with your pencil or your brush.
Thirty years (well, almost) ago, in England, when I was looking at nude male statues I wondered why my friends called them "dirty" when I, a Finn, could only see the natural beauty in them.
Unfortunately, even today nudity means "dirty" to many people. "Dirty" films where the human body (mostly female) is exhibited as a sexual object and its natural beauty seems to be totally forgotten. But that's what we do these days, exploit nature, exploit animals, exploit the human body, even natural sexuality! Frightening, isn't it?
So I hope these pastel ladies will remind you what a delicate, beautiful thing nudity is, and how very natural!
