Magneto. The start date, considering Bryan Singer's other commitments,
couldn't be much before September 2005. There is as yet no script nor am I
signed up. On the other hand Hugh Jackman had a three-movie deal and Alan
Cumming is also contracted to appear once more.

3/8/04 From Horror.com:
Hugh Talks Van Helsing and X-Men 3
Q:
How will it feel to bounce between franchises with this and the X-Men?
Jackman: Well, um, I've got to admit I said that exact question to my
agent and Universal. I said, 'Do you think maybe I shouldn't be in both of
them?' He said, 'I think this is the first time in history I've had an
actor worry about being in two successful franchises.' And course, that's
a good point. If they're good movies and people want to see them and want
to see another, you know, then... why not?

From Comingsoon:
Hugh Jackman Eyes Aronofsky's Fountain "There
is new life in Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain, with Hugh Jackman starring
instead of Brad Pitt and a smaller budget....Little is known about the
story, says Variety. Originally the film followed its main character on a
psychological journey set in the present, but with a plotline reaching
centuries into both the past and the future. Among the themes explored are
love, death and immortality." It's also reported by the Gurardian, FilmStew,
and FilmForce,
