The Shadowguard | |||||||||
The Shadowguard is the first line of defense of the Kingdom, though also the least noticed. A traveler on the King's Road may think they are alone in the woods and dismiss that eerie feeling of being watched as a product of their imagination, but often it is not. Well versed in woodsman lore, a member of the Shadowguard can easily move through the forest without being noticed. As the eyes and ears of the Kingdom, they often know of impending attack before it happens. In warfare, they have been known to hurry a larger force, often stopping attacks before they actually happen. A Shadowguard is a paragon of flexibility, therefore, there is no set skill template other than those required for a character immersed in the environment of the North woods. They are often archers, but have been known to utilize many other weapons as well. Some skills that are useful and permitted are: Stealthing, Ninjitsu, Tracking, Detect Hidden, and Poisoning. Care must be taken when using skills as we ARE a medieval culture, and we do not want to scare to populace. In order to join the Shadowguard one must abide by the following: 1 - Must be an active member of the Inethria for a minimum of one month. 2 - During that month, make contact with Your Captain, as well as the Shadowguard Captain and let them know of your desire to become a Shadowguard. Seek out and develop mentor relationships with current members of the Guard, they can help you in many ways. 3 - When you are ready to transfer from the regular army, you must use your current chain of command. Inform them of your inentions and make a request to be transferred. The Shadowguard's primary duties is restricted information, and as such, will be discussed only among current members in good standng. It is sufficient to say that you are expected to follow orders. Poromtion to this rank can only be achieved through invite. Much is not known of the Shadowguard class as it is shrouded in secrecy. Information pertaining to the Shadowguard class has to be saught out in game. Uniform: - Sash or tunic in the guild color. You may wear any other clothing on your character's body so long as your character looks European medieval. Arms and Armor: - Same as the Veteran Soldier and Veteran Marksman rank depending upon which class the character comes from. Restrictions: - Same as the Veteran Soldier and Veteran Marksman rank depending upon which class the character comes from. Skills Allowed: - Same as the Veteran Soldier and Veteran Marksman rank depending upon which class the character comes from. Skills Not Allowed: - Same as the Veteran Soldier and Veteran Marksman rank depending upon which class the character comes from. |
