| The Acolyte | ||||||||
An Acolyte is an individual with an innate but minor ability with magic. His duties are to adhere to all higher ranking members and devote his time to the magics. He has yet to discover where his gift lies and will take this time to discover his abilites. His skills with magic is meager but he shows great potential. He understands at this point he will have great difficulty mastering the magics without help and will approach a particular Wizard or Warrior Mage to take him on as their apprentice. Promotion will come once the Acolyte has been accepted as an apprentice. At this rank, the member is to decide upon which path of the magics to take. There are two to be specific: The 'Warrior Mage' and the 'Wizard'. Please see each rank for more detailed information. It is up to the player how he wants to role-play his Magi. However, the Acolyte is expected to abide by the rules laid out. Those who do not wish to follow such rules will be removed from the guild. With that said, there are several different ways to role-play a Magi. See the 'Role-playing a Magi' section for more information. Uniform: - Robe in the guild color. You may wear any other clothing on your character's body so long as your character looks European medieval. Arms and Armor: - Light armor. This includes all types of leather. The Acolyte is not to wear any metal armor (chainmail, ringmail, or platemail). No any samurai or ninja armor that is not European medieval in appearance. No weapons allowed other than a staff type, i.e. staff of magi or quarter staff. Restrictions: - Cannot ride a mount. No items of samurai or elven heritage. Please use judgement in this area. You may use an item so long as it cannot be seen on your character or if it appears European medieval in design. You may also use a weapon that is not overtly obvious such as nun chucks. Ask a member of leadership with questsions regardling particular items allowed. Skills Allowed: - Magery, evaluate intelligence, meditation, wrestling, resist spells, poisoning, inscribe, focus, macefighting, healing, anatomy. Skills Not Allowed: - Spell weaving,, necromacny, spirit speak, archery, craft skills, hiding, stealth, musician skills, animal taming skills, swordsmanship, fencing, parrying, tracking, lumberjacking, tactics, bushido and ninjistu, chivalry, detect hidden. |
