"GARIBALDI" This is the soprannome of another Di Mascio family in Lu Lette. Two Di Mascio brothers left the nearby town of Caramanico to settle in Lu Lette in the mid to late 1800s. One brother took the name "Batte Mans" (see the soprannome above),  and the other took the name "Garibaldi" because he was born on the day Garibaldi marched into Rome during the Italian unification period.

"PAZZIT" ("crazy guy")  This is a recent Lu Lette nickname,  given to Giuseppe di Pietrantonio, who between the 1920s and 1950s, with his wife Pasqualina, had 19 children.  His family before him was known as de La Torre.
"CENTE PECORE" ("One hundred sheep")  This Lu Lette nickname is another recent one, given to Camillo Di Pietrantonio and his nephew Nicola, whom he raised during the 1930s and 1940s.  This family also has the nickname de La Torre.
"CACANEI" Nickname for another line of the Di Pietrantonio family of Lu Lette.
"CAPANNA" (meaning either "stone shepherd's hut" or "grapevine")  Nickname for another line of the Di Pietrantonio family of Lu Lette.

"PIRIPICCHIO" My father, Santino Di Pietrantonio, was from Lettomanoppello; one day he went to see the actor Piripicchio in Pescara and after that he would imitate this actor, so all of the lettesi began to call him "Piripicchio" and from that day on that was his nickname.
"MISCIACCHIO" My grandfather, Vincenzo Di Pietrantonio of Lettomanoppello, was given this nickname because when he used to eat sausage or salami he was so fast that he would steal other peoples' sausages and salami without them knowing about it until later.
