My grandfather was Antonio D'Ascanio( nickname-Malizie) from Costa del Colla, in Roccamorice.
He just passed away on march 31,2001.He was living in Toronto Canada with my Aunt Assunta(D'Ascanio)-his daughter and her husband--Donato DiGiovanni( nickname-Bulino).
My dad's name is Giustino D'Ascanio.(nickname-Malizie) ,together with his two brothers, Emidio and Donato, accompanied my grandfather's body back to Roccamorice where he was entombed beside his wife--Maria Donata D'Ascanio(Rosati).

My father is Emidio Santangelo and married Angela D'Attilio, daughter of Carmine D'Attilio and Rosa Pietrangelo. Emidio and Angela lived at Largo della Fontana in the centre of Roccamorice. Emidio and Angela had 3 children- Luisa (married to Rocco DiCarlo), Maria (married to Gino DiPietrantonio) and Agostino (married to Maria Assunta Palumbo). My Grandfather Donato Di Nunzio was born there in the late 1800's and then he immigrated to Canada. When his wife died in child birth he returned to Roccamorice for a few years with his 3 young children in toe - my father being the youngest of the 3. Can you put me in touch with or tell me where I might find any of my Di Nunzio Cousins?
There is always a bit of controversy on the proper spelling of our name - here in Canada we spell it De Nunzio.

Their children-Giuseppe (married to Rosalina DiMillo),Antonio (married to Concetta Ventura), Bartolomeo (married to Antonietta D'Angelo), and Angelo (married to Antonietta Parete) .Giuseppe and Rosalina , my parents lived at Costa del Colle in LaRocca and they had 9 children-Pasquale (Concetta Simone), Donato (Anna Maria Palumbo),Assunta (Bartolomeo Succi), Anna (Guido DiGiovanni), Maria (Ugo Cesarone), Agostino (Lucia Stella), Rocco (Luisa Santangelo), Vittorio (Lucia DiGiovanni) and Franco (Anna DiGiovanni).

I am looking for information relating to my great-great grandfather's brother and sister. My great-great grandfather was Luigi di Clemente, born June 21, 1881 in Roccamorice, died April 20, 1973 in Abbateggio. His brother was Giuseppe di Clemente, who emigrated to the USA and married an American woman; he apparently settled in California and died there. Luigi's sister was Giovinna di Clemente who also emigrated to the USA ( most likely the state of New York); she married a man with the surname Ferrante. They had a son named Tomasino. I married into a 'La Rocca' family - the DiClemente one, also from Roccamorice. Both my in-laws are from there. My father-in-law, Vittorio DiClemente, was the blacksmith in La Rocca before immigrating to Canada in the late 50s and his mother, Emilia DiMillo, was the baker for the town . Their nickname was Paolucce.

All were born in Roccamorice and immigrated to Canada in the 1950's. Originally they lived in Niagra Falls, Ont. and within a couple years they moved to Toronto where my family still lives in or around T.O.
I know my grandmother had 7 sisters and 1 brother, my grandfather had 3 brothers and 1 sister.

My grandmother Antoinette Di Giorgio (1904-1986) married Antonio Cafferelli [Cafarell(a) several different spellings] (d 1926) in Syracuse NY. Both emigrated from Roccamorice.

My grandfather Antonio married Anna Di Pasquale who was also from La Rocca, and they still live in La Rocca. My father Frank DiMatteo came to Canada in the early 1970's.He had 2 brothers- Giuseppe and Donato- all born in Roccamorice. My grandfather Antonio DiMatteo died in the 1960's in a train crash on the way home from the war. Can anyone help with a newspaper report about the crash?
