Cardinal Restoration N19181 into N177MG |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
History of Aircraft: Circa 1997 Previous owner had stripped the AC to prepare for new paint. He removed several airframe parts to facilitate paint removal. He also replaced the windshield, front side windows, and center rear windows. He did most of this work himself or under A&P supervision but never completed the jobs he started. The ship sat idle for approximately 5 years until in January of 2002 my partner and I purchased the AC. My partner is an A&P, and IA who teaches Aircraft Mechanics at a local vocational school. He has build several of his own aircraft. He also owned a '68 Cardinal some years ago. Despite my background as an avionics technician, without my partner, I would have never considered such a project. N19181 had 1950 hours engine and airframe. IFR avionics with autopilot. No damage history noted in the log books, though some was noted during pre-buy inspection. |
