The Bay Area is a great place to visit so we hope that if you have the time, you will go explore all that it has to offer!  The links to the right will give you information on how to get around once you are here; where to stay; and things to see and do in the area.

The area is comprised of San Francisco (which you can see just beyond the bridge in the photo above), Marin County (located north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge; where the wedding is), the Peninsula (south of San Francisco) and the East Bay (includes Oakland (where we live) and Berkeley).

The
Lonely Planet website is a good place to start for basic information on San Francisco.  Here is a map (click here) of the area so you can get a better idea of the lay of the land.

As a last introductory note: the
weather.  Typically, September and October bring the best weather of the year to the Bay Area.  Temperatures can reach the 70s and 80s, the fog tends to stay out more rather than less, and the rain very often stays away during these months.  Temperatures can still drop in the evening, though.  The best advice: LAYERS!  We recommend that you bring outfits that you can layer - a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a jacket, for example - so you can remove layers as the day warms up and pile them back on as the weather cools down at sunset.

So explore and enjoy!!
