Purpose of Merlion Awards Program

  The Merlion Awards Program was established to recognize websites which show excellence in design, originality and effort in construction. You must be the owner /designer /creator of the website. We strive to recognize the hard work, ingenuity, uniqueness and integrity of the web site owner. You are not expected to be an expert. Knowing and using with knowledge basic html in building a site that pleases not only others, but yourself. This award is not for sites that are just "thrown together" and placed on the web. You must demonstrate pride in your work. I am not a master of website building and I do not expect you to be. I have found that sometimes simple is better than complex.

  As with any other award program, this award does have criteria that must be met. The criteria is set by me, as any other award program owner does. It is mainly based on my likes and dislikes concerning the use of certain things on your page as found in the criteria. In no way is this award based on subject matter, unless that which is found in the disqualification page of this site. I may not agree with you, but it is not the purpose of this award to censor. Pages should be viewable by all.
