The Cats Profile-Luna,
Artemis and Diana

Luna, Artemis and Diana as humans
The Cats are Luna, Artemis and Diana. Luna is
Serena's cat, Artemis is Mina's cat, and Diana is and Rini's cat. Now these are no
ordinary pet cats. Serena and Luna met when Serena saved her from a group of kids
torturing her and Luna followed her home and talked to her (yes, these cats can talk.)
Luna, as were the other cats, were around during the Silver Millennium and Luna gave
Serena her powers to
become Sailor Moon. Artemis gave Mina her powers to become Sailor V in England. Luna and
Artemis guide the Sailor Scouts, as Diana guides Rini.

Luna likes to make fun of
Serena a lot. She often calls Serena a ditz or a klutz because she truly expected Sailor
Moon to be more sophisticated and mature than Serena. Even though Luna is technically
Serena's cat, she and Amy (Sailor Mercury) are quite close. Luna likes Amy because she if
very intelligent and dedicated to being a Sailor Scout. However, Amy sometimes drifts away
and can be just as wild as Serena, much to the dismay of Luna. Luna, like Amy, is not
totally perfect. In one Sailor Moon movie, Luna is sick and decides to walk herself home.
She is almost hit by a car, but is saved when a guy darts in front of the car to save Luna
in one lightning quick move (I'm seriously impressed, not many people would save a cat
like that and survive). He nursed her to health and Luna-get this- fell in love with him
and wanted very badly to be able to be with him. But she knew she was a cat and couldn't
possible be with him. Serena and crew search for Luna, but then a new enemy arises and
Luna shows up (much to their relief) while they're talking about this new enemy. Serena
found out about Luna's love when she followed her back to his house. Luna is sitting in
the snow, crying and when Serena finds her, Luna spills her story and tells Serena that
she wishes she could be a girl. Serena and the Sailor Scouts go battle some new villain
(for full details you have to watch the movie) and Serena lets Luna be a human girl for
one day and Luna takes her crush up into the solar system (he works as a astronomist or
something like that. He studies the planets and stuff). He was too sick to go orbit the
earth, so Luna fulfills his dream by taking him up herself. So as you can see, Luna is
quite a kitty.

How Artemis found Mina is
unknown (at least to me) but he, too, used to be in the Silver Millennium. He isn't as
involved in the series as Luna is (I mean, come on, she practically stared in one of the
Sailor Moon movies) but Artemis is definitely a big character. I think that Artemis really
loves Luna, she just can't see it. I thought it was really sweet in the Sailor Moon movie
described above when Luna and Artemis meet at the very end of the movie after Luna's whole
experience. Luna still looks petty upset and Artemis comes around this corner with a
bouquet of flowers (they might have been roses) in his mouth (or at least I think he had
the flowers. If you remember, please e-mail me and tell me). He sees Luna and says simply,
"Luna." Luna starts crying, "Artemis!" and she runs over to him and
sobs into his shoulder. It's a really sweet moment. (I went through at least two dozen
tissues during this scene.)

Diana is the sweet little
kitten whose mommy and daddy (brace yourself) are none other than Luna and Artemis. I
guess after all that time, they finally realized how much their kitty love meant. I'm very
foggy on the last season, so forgive me. Diana is a cute little kitten (Even though Luna
is my favorite cat, Diana gives her a good run for her money.) who often seems to get into
mischief. She and Rini are two of a kind. There's a really cute picture somewhere (you
don't even want to know about my computer files) where Diana is sitting on Sailor
ChibiMoon's (Rini) head, like she often does. It's one of my favorite pictures. Diana has
her mother's smarts and her father's spunk. Even though Darien is very friendly with Luna
and Artemis, I definitely have to say that Diana is his favorite. Diana reminds him of
Rini and I've found more than a few photos of Darien and Diana. You can definitely say
that Serena is jealous of how Darien spends so much time with Rini and Diana but once she
becomes Neo-Queen Serenity, her entire viewpoint will change.
