West Orange was Thomas Edison's home in the 1800's known as one of the the country's greatest inventor.

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program
The EOF Pre-Freshman Summer Program serves to bridge the gap between college and high school while improving the retention rates of college students. Also, the EOF program plays an instrumental role in recruiting under-represented groups in higher education. EOF is not a program to meet a quota, but to help economically and academically disadvantaged students obtain a college education. Fortunately over 25,000 students have earned their degrees in many fields of study and make contributions to New Jersey as professional. The EOF programs provide a greated diversity of the representation students in the state colleges/universities than was once reflected prior to the program's inception in 1968. EOF is one of the most successful investments of the State of New Jersey. One of the program's results has been to strengthen New Jersey's economy by increasing the pool of highly skilled tax paying workers by reducing the ranks of those who are likely to be recipients of state public assistance programs. A college education serves as a tool to improve the quality of life in both ourselves and those around us. Hopefully, this program will continue to open new doors and opportunities to the future generations.
