( D ) SCRIPTURES OF FORWARDS MOTION ----------------------------------------------------------------- In the following scriptures are the descriptive profile of true worship, fear and reverence of God as people fall forward in His presence; 1. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, - Genesis 17:1-3 23. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the people. 24. And there came a fire out from before the Lord, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. - Leviticus 9:23-24 37. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God. - 1 Kings 18:37-39 28. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake. - Ezekiel 1:28 22. And the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee. 23. Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face. 24. Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house. - Ezekiel 3:22-24 2. And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. 3. And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. 4. And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. 5. So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house. - Ezekiel 43:2-5 4. And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13. And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. - Luke 5:12-13 41. And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42. For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. - Luke 8:41-42 15. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. - Luke 17:15-16 11. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. - Romans 14:11-12 14. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, - Ephesians 3:14 9. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:9-11 24. But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25. And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. - 1 Corinthians 14:24-25 17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. - Rev. 1:17-18 8. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. - Revelation 5:8 14. And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12. Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. - Rev. 7:10-12 16. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. - Revelation 11:16-17 It should be self evident from the scriptures that a forward motion of falling in the Lords' presence is characteristic of people in true fear and worship of the Lord God and not a backward motion of falling as characterises the " slain in the Spirit " activity. Therefore, the backward falling action of the slain in the Spirit activity is not indicative to be the blessing or anointing from God that certain people in the modern Christian church, and in past years, have claimed it to be. The backwards falling which commonly describes the supposed slain in the Spirit activity in no manner is a true scriptural example of worshiping God nor of being overwhelmed or over powered by His presence. None of the persons in the above scriptures were slain in the Spirit. Moreover, in both cases, where people fall forward and backward, none of these incidences proves or displays people being slain in the Spirit. If they were, then all who fell should have died. Slain in the Spirit is unscriptural and error. It is a doctrine of devils and an activity which does not bless nor anoint the participant with the Holy Spirit of God; 22. - Ezekiel 3:22-24 Here in the scripture, Ezekiel sees the glory of the Lord. Then falling on his face, ( forward motion ), the scriptures write that the spirit entered into him. When people are baptized in the Holy Spirit and when the glory of the Lord God does truly come into our church services, Christian seminars or conferences, then the act of falling ( should it occur ), should be a forward motion, a motion of true reverance and worship of the Living God due to His magnificent presence, and not a falling backwards. ----------------------------------------------------------- n8usa@yahoo.com - Roger |
