Welcome.  This website is about the basic culture of China.  But what exactly is culture?  Cultures are traditions and customs that are passed on through learning, rather than through biological inheritance.  Culture is a major reason for the success of human adaptability.

Culture itself is unique to humanity.  Enculturation is the process by which culture is acquired and transmitted across the generations.   Humans are the only species that have culture. Everyone is cultured, not only wealthy people with elite educations.  Cultures are integrated and patterned through their dominant economic forces , social patterns, key symbols, and core values.  Cultural forces constantly mold human biology, however, cultural forces don't always dictate behavior.  There is room for creativity, flexibility, diversity, and disagreement within cultures.
