Major sites of Druidic Pilgrimage |
These sites of pilgrimage, all situated in the southern half of England, are the major arenas where Druid groups publically perform their ceremonies. All of the Druid Orders listed on the home page of this web site are based in the South, and hence major pilgrimages are generally held in the same geographic area. |
There are, of course, many other places where Druidic ceremonies are privately performed, for example: garden ceremonies in home-made stone circles in Northumbria, Lancashire or Norfolk; rituals celebrating the landscapes of the Hebredian Islands, or simple meditations on nature in the ancient woodlands of Wales. |

Many Druids and Pagans live in urban areas, and many initiates seek the sacrality of nature within their local environments. However, for many people, it is true to say that intimate contact with the Gods is to be found in the natural, non-urban, landscapes of the rural. |
