Hello and welcome. You've caught me having a little break from my studies - but not for long I'm afraid!

My name is Mizuno Ami and I live in a luxury condominium with my mother who is a doctor. I don't see her often because her job keeps her very busy. My father is an artist and he travels all the time. He and my mother are divorced and I never see my dad because of his travels, but he sends me post cards from all of the different places he visits. I'm happy at home with my mom, but sometimes I guess I feel a little lonely.

My birthday is September 10th, so I'm a Virgo, and my blood type is A. My favorite color is blue and I love the water. Naturally, I'm a very good swimmer! Other than reading and studying, swimming is my favorite pastime. When I met Usagi-chan and the other Sailor Soldiers I was a 14 year old student in Class 5 at Minato-ku Juuban Jr. High. Before meeting them I didn't really have any close friends. I think that the other kids didn't want to talk to me because they felt intimidated by my high marks in school. They always called me the girl-genius which kind of made me feel isolated at times. I have always been very busy with my studies. I have a 300 IQ, and I work very hard to maintain top scores in all of my classes because I want to be a doctor some day.

When Usagi and I first met each other, it was after school when I was walking home. Her cat, Luna, jumped on my shoulder and startled me. At the time, I was attending the Crystal Academy cram school, which was pretty expensive and difficult to get into. Unbeknownst to me or anyone else, it was actually one of the fronts for our first major enemy, the Dark Kingdom! It was because of Usagi's intervention that I discovered that I had a second identity - Sailor Mercury! As Sailor Mercury, I have the power to control water. I also have special computerized goggles which can relay all kinds of scientific data that can help us as we fight the enemy and plan our strategies.

When I'm not busy as Sailor Mercury, I study hard and try to help and encourage the other girls in their studies as well. It's pretty hard keeping them focused sometimes - especially Usagi-chan and Mina-chan. <sigh> Well, I try anyway. At least we've all passed our high school entrance exams, although I sometimes wonder how Usagi and Minako managed it.

Usagi tends to bring out the lighter, fun side of my personality. The first day we met she invited me to go to the Crown Game Center with her. I had never played video games before, but I had a blast on the Sailor V game! It was really fun and I got top score the first time I played!

I don't have a boyfriend, and I really don't have time for one either, but I think Furuhata Motoki, who runs the Crown Game Center, is very cute! His parents own it, so he works there after school. I think we all have secret crushes on him, especially Mina-chan and Mako-chan.
