Vision:

OTRADEV envisions a sovereign, democratic, just and humane Philippine society.

Mission:

OTRADEV seeks to contribute in empowering the rural masses by enabling them to gain equitable access to economic, political and cultural resources necessary for their full development.

Program Goals:

To facilitate the formation and strengthening of structures through which rural communities, especially women can exercise their right and meaningfully participate in decision-making processes affecting them

To promote  sustainable development strategies and approaches

To enable   rural communities enrich their culture through evolvement of traditional and innovative ideas and practices

To help improve the socio-economic condition of the rural poor through sustainable and community-based management of resources and appropriate application of science and technology

To Strengthen the capacity of communities for asserting their rights to traditional resource base

To Maximize the opportunities for promoting peoples rights and protecting the environment available in such  legislations such as IPRA, Local Government Code, Fisheries  Code while at the same time working for their review

Organizational Goal:

To provide a venue  for involvement of students and professionals in social development in the rural communities.

Strategies:


Community organizing, capability buildiing, socio-economic work, policy advocacy and community-based resource management

The Organization for Training Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (OTRADEV)
is a private, voluntary, non-stock, non-profit organization engaged mainly in rural social development. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission  in 1980 (Reg. No. 91300) and became a foundation in 1984.

OTRADEV was founded  in 1979 by a group of young graduates from the then Institute of Social Work and Community Development (ISWCD) of the University of the Philippines who wanted to test out their own concept and approach to development work among  the country's rural poor.

OTRADEV  is a membership organization. Its rank is composed of academicians, social development practitioners and other professionals  who wish to express through OTRADEV their social development commitment.
