18 returning players were abandoned into three tribes, Saboga, Chapera, and Mogo Mogo. . Rob and Amber made an alliance on Chapera and Rudy and Rupert did the same on Saboga. All strategizing was off for a little while at Mogo Mogo. Saboga lost the first immunity challenge and Jenna L., Jerri, Rupert, and Rudy voted out previous winner, Tina.

The tribes were dehydrated and morale was low. Each tribe was given a box full of rice which they would get clues to keys at reward challenges. Saboga came back and won the reward challenge and chose to give everyone a clue, flint, and a pot. Each tribe made fire and Rudy hurt his foot. Saboga lost the immunity challenge again and voted out the older and hurt Rudy.

Mogo Mogo noticed that Jenna M. was ailing and not having a good time. On Saboga, Ethan competed with Rupert to fish. Richard is able to capture a shark for a meal at Mogo Mogo. The tribes were then instructed to make the best shelter and Rob M. led his tribe to victory. As the tribes convened for the immunity challenge, Jenna pulled herself out to be with her sick mother.

Everyone suffered through the terrible storm except for Chapera and Rob and Amber who were getting closer. Lex meanwhile was waiting to get their final clue in order to get rid of Richard on Mogo Mogo. Chapera won reward but was not able to win immunity. At camp Rob C. made a deal with Rob M. but at tribal council he was voted out unanimously.

Each tribe made a raft and brought it to what they thought was a reward challenge. But in actuality the losing tribe would be dissolved and join the other two. Saboga lost and Jenna and Rupert went to Chapera and Ethan and Jerri went to Mogo Mogo. Chapera won the immunity challenge and Mogo Mogo planned to vote out Ethan, but Colby changed it to Richard.

Shii Ann and Colby disagreed about how to play the game and Rob Mariano was glad Rupert caught him fish until it would be Rupert's time to go. Susan however had a tough time feeling violated after Richard had rubbed against her at the previous immunity challenge. When the tribes convened for reward, Susan was done and decided to quit. Mogo Mogo won the reward.

Mogo Mogo felt very annoyed with Jerri who was complaining as soon as they had gotten up. The tribes met for a joint reward and immunity challenge which Chapera won and brought Kathy for their reward trip. As Chapera tried to get secrets out of Kathy and celebrated Colby tried to get Jerri out and confided in Lex and Ethan. Lex turned the tables on Colby though and told Jerri and with Shii Ann Colby was voted out.

Kathy came back to camp alone and cold and waited for her tribe to return. The next day each tribe picked a tribemate to go to the other camp and pick three items that they would get if they won the reward challenge. Chapera was able to win both the reward and immunity challenge sending Mogo Mogo to tribal council again. Ethan did his best to save himself but was voted out.

Tom and Rupert went fishing and Tom was happy to catch a fish. The tribes thought they were going to merge but in actuality they were switched up. Oddly enough each tribe completely switched except for Amber who stayed on Chapera. The new Mogo Mogo won immunity and Rob asked Lex to saved Amber and said that he would save Lex for doing it. At tribal council, Lex and Kathy saved Amber and voted out Jerri.

Rob hoped that Amber wouldn't be voted out and made a deal with Alicia. He got his wish when he saw her at the reward challenge. Rupert won and brought Amber and Jenna with him to a resort. When the two tribes convened again they finally merged. Kathy and Rob won immunity. At tribal council Rob went back on his word to Lex and Lex was voted out by the former Chapera.

Kathy knew she was the next to go unless she did something. She was surprised however that the next day they were having a joint reward challenge. Divided into two teams, the winning team would compete for immunity. Rob's team won and Rob won immunity. Rob then gave up his chance to watch his video so everyone could get letters from home. Kathy suggested to Tom and Rupert to take out Rob, but in the end she was voted out,

Shii Ann was the last original Mogo Mogo and felt she was next. At the reward challenge the tribe had to answer questions about what they thought of each other and Alicia was rubbed the wrong way. Rupert won and got to dictate who ate what at dinner. The tribe was annoyed with Shii Ann but Shii Ann ended up winning immunity causing the former Chapera to take out Alicia.

Jenna and Shii Ann began to highly dislike each other after being together for so long. At the reward family members came and Tom's son won. The two of them plus Rob and his brother went to Chapera for food and relaxation. At the immunity challenge Tom narrowly beat out Shii Ann to win. Shii Ann tried to get Jenna voted out, but Chapera stuck together and voted her.

It was down to the five ex-Chapera. To try and save themselves Jenna and Rupert plotted but behind them stood Rob who had watched them strategize. Rob won a car at the reward challenge and he and Amber went to watch a movie and gave Amber a car. Rob then won the immunity challenge and pitted Rupert against Tom before betraying Tom and voting him out.

Jenna and Rupert had an alliance and Rob and Amber had an alliance. After Amber won immunity Rob and Amber told Jenna that she should switch in order to avoid a dead locked tie scenario. Jenna gave in and Rupert was voted out. Jenna, Rob, and Amber competed in the final challenge where Rob won and took out Jenna to no surprise. At an emotional final tribal council, Amber beat out Rob to win.
