For the first time, tribes are divided between men and women. Tambaqui (the men) start to think that they must win or they willcome back looking like losers while the women have a tough time getting camp together and Christy (the first deaf contestant) feels she is on the outside. However Jaburu beats Tambaqui in the challenge and votes out Ryan who was weak and lazy.

Jaburu's camp was in shambles while Tambaqui decided to go fishing before it started to rain. Jaburu wins the reward and Tambaqui is again humbled. At Jaburu Joanna won't go near the idol for religious purposes. Later the Jaburu girls find a granola bar wrapper and blame Janet for sneaking in food. Jaburu lost the next immunity challenge and Janet was voted out.

After a storm, Tambaqui needed to repair their shelter and Daniel felt like he was on the outside. Matthew tried to calm him down by speaking Mandarin Chinese. The women thought they needed a leader and elected Deena. Jaburu won both the reward and immunity challenge and sent Tambaqui to tribal council. Though wanting to vote of Roger, they voted out Daniel.

Shawna, Jenna, and Heidi were fed up with the older women like Joanna and Jeanne and seeked Deena's help. And Matt felt like he was on the outs on his tribe for being aligned with Daniel. Tambaqui won reward and immunity and Shawna broke down from the loss and asked to be voted out. However it was Joanna voted off because of the Jenna and Heidi aligning with Deena.

Shawna was mad that her tribe had kept her and Alex got hit by his own machete. The youngest person from each tribe was then asked to meet (Dave and Jenna). The next morning they were told to pick new tribes (alternating between men and women). With the tribes switched, Tambaqui lost the immunity challenge. Heidi swung with the men and voted out Jeanne.

Christy felt nervous on Tambaqui while Shawna was feeling a whole lot better now that Alex was at camp.  Tambaqui won reward and Butch and Christy bonded. Meanwhile at Jaburu Rob and Deena made a strong alliance together. Rob also made an alliance with Matthew, who he thought he could control. Tambaqui won the reward challenge and Shawna was voted out.

The two tribes were delighted to finally merge and Roger began barking orders at the tribe to help build a new shelter. None were pleased with him and conspire to vote him out because of his bossy nature. At the immunity challenge, Roger jumped off and Deena stayed on to win. And at tribal council Roger was voted out with only Butch and Dave voting with him to get out Christy.

Dave returned from tribal council feeling vulnerable and the whole tribe felt nervous as they watch Matthew sharpen his machete. Dave won reward and he and Deena were able to get a bath while Jenna won the immunity challenge. Despite feeling scared of Matthew, the rest of the tribe bonded together and voted out Dave.

Rob felt he was in control and told Matthew what to do. Matthew thought he had power by talking to Butch and telling him what to do. Alex won the reward and he and Jenna went to a coffee bar. Heidi got a spider bite and had to limp around the camp. At the immunity challenge Matthew won and the tribe picked Deena to go who had tried to get Alex out.

Jenna, Heidi, Alex, and Rob felt like they were in control of the game while Butch, Christy, and Matthew didn't. At the reward challenge, and auction, Jenna got mad at Christy who outbid her to get a letter from home. Jenna however was able to win one later. Rob won immunity and betrayed the other three by siding with Butch, Christy, and Matthew to vote out Alex.

After tribal council, Jenna and Heidi felt betrayed by Rob and tried to get Christy to swing her vote to help them. Matthew won the reward and gave up seeing his mom so everyone else could be with their loved ones. Jeff then surprised Matthew by letting him and his mom go to a village. Jenna won immunity and Rob realigned himself with Jenna and Heidi to vote out Christy.

The conditions were getting to the castaways and Heidi was planning to not get out yet and Butch was getting firewood so that they wouldn't have to get anymore. Matthew won a new car and invited Rob to a barbecue. Back at camp Heidi, Butch, and Jenna were surprised to see part of it burnt down, blamed on the firewood. Matthew won reward and Heidi was voted out.

Jenna felt very proud to be in the final four and be the last woman standing. Rob, Matthew, and Butch planned to vote her out though. Jenna however won immunity and the others used her to save themselves. At tribal council it was Butch who was voted off 3 to 1. At the final challenge Jenna outlasted Rob and Matthew and won the final immunity and voted Rob out. Her and Matthew went to the final tribal council where Jenna defeated Matthew in a 6 to 1 vote.
