January 31, 2002 #2 We have been authorized to give the company a rolling 24-hour extension, which we have done. Report to work tomorrow as usual. NOBP GENERAL MESSAGE #11: Greetings: Please be advised that significant progress has been made towards reaching a new collective bargaining agreement. The National Oil Policy Committee is standing by in anticipation of receiving a new offer from Shell Oil and its affiliated companies later this evening. As a result, all bargaining locations are instructed to offer their employers an extension of the current agreement on a rolling 24-hour basis. That is, you are authorized to extend the agreements on a day-to-day basis subject to a 24-hour notice of canceling the extension. If you have any questions regarding this, please advise this office. In addition, all strike notices previously served per General Message No. 10 should be rescinded. This includes: Chevron at its refinery in Richmond, CA., and its chemical plant in Pasadena, Texas; Phillips/Tosco at its refineries covered by the California state wide agreement; Exxon/Mobil at its Beaumont, Texas refinery and B.P./Amoco at its Texas City, Texas refinery. If any group or groups wish to serve strike notice on local issues and have submitted proper requests for strike authorization on local issues, please inform this office in order to determine the circumstances of such action. In order to facilitate getting a pattern established, please refrain from undertaking this action until at least twenty-four hours past contract expiration. You should continue to stand by and monitor your messages regarding further developments. |
