Introduction
The
elements of Pak Field Level II Hospital reported in the mission area in
December 2003. After transit stay at Monrovia the entire setup moved to
Tubmanburg , Bomi County. The hospital started to function in Liberia
Government Hospital, Tubmanburg building in January 2004. It was built
by a Liberia Mining Company in 1950 and later on Liberian Government took
over the management of the hospital but could not sustain the functionality
of the institution due to implacable civil war. With the establishment of
Pak Field Hospital the quality and level of health care to the Liberians has
improved remarkably, as the medical outfit is indiscriminately rendering
quality consultation and medication to the patients, without compromising
its operational obligations with UNMIL. This humane agenda of the Pak Field
Hospital not only earned goodwill of the war shattered Liberians but also
helped UNMIL to pursue its mandate in Liberia.
