I got a phone call from my sister-in-law on Friday. She's been dealing with my previous bank for me, trying to get the canceled checks that the SSA is requesting. She said that the person in the book keeping department told her that this bank does not keep ckecks longer than seven years (what is required by the IRS). SOoo....my only hope is now with my Congressman, whom I've not heard from since I mailed him my letter Wed. I'll give him a few more days, since we are leaving for a mini vacation on Tue. If by Friday when we come home, I don't hear from him, I'll have to call him.
