A Sonnet for You

for Lexy

Teardrops remind me of you
and the night wanders along
Darkness, the absence of you
and starlight, singer of songs

What have I, but sadness?
A moonbeam shines, far above
Questioning peaceful madness
A flute perchance, sings my love

Many miles, too many years
lay betwixt our siamese heart
Tearful eyes and wishful ears
regret the time we did part

As a teardrop in the December rain
A moment captured my heart in pain
