This poem was passed on by Grinshill Animal Rescue and is dedicated to all animal owners who have loved and lost their best friend and who have said, quite understandably, that they would never have another pet or go through such pain and sadness again. If these words can make just one of you bravely change your mind and some lonely pet is given a home as a result, then they will have been worth the typing. SOME DOG NEEDS YOU I know you said that you could never go through that again, I know you said You couldn't stand the heartache and the pain. I know you said No other dog could take your best friend's place, You said it so sincerely, With such sadness in your face. Please think again my dog loving friend, Sadly you had to part. But he still walks beside you In your mind and in your heart. I know that you'd feel that you let him down, If you found another friend For you had cried your heart out, When your hero faced the end. I know if he could speak to you, He'd tell you what to do. He'd say 'somewhere a lonely dog Needs someone good like you'. I know that he would mention That he loved you all his days And he'd thank you for just being you, With your dog loving ways. And I know that he would tell you Not to carry on alone, To accept the fact that he is gone, And give another dog a home. He'd tell you that he'd watch over you And guide you as you go And your life will be filled with sunshine again, You'll walk in a wonderful glow. He'd tell you he was happy still, That his living was not in vain, Then he'd go off and wait at Heaven's Gate, Until you meet again. ~ J.D. O'BRIEN ~ |
Deacon meeting Bryan for the first time, "mean" Rottie alright, ha! More like brotherly love at first sight |
Music: I BELIEVE IN YOU DON WILLIAMS (Roger Cook/Sam Hogin) I don't believe in superstars organic food and foreign cars I don't believe the price of gold the certainty of growing old that right is right and left is wrong that north and south can't get along that east is east and west is west and being first is always best. But I believe in love, I believe in babies I believe in mom and dad, and I believe in you. Well I don't believe that heaven waits for only those who congregate I like to think of God as love He's down below, He's up above He's watching people everywhere He knows who dies and doesn't care and I'm an ordinary man sometimes I wonder who I am. But I believe in love, I believe in music I believe in magic, and I believe in you. I know with all my certainty what's goin' with you and me is a good thing it's true, I believe in you. I don't believe virginity is as common as it used to be in working days and sleeping nights that black is black and white is white that Superman and Robin Hood are still alive in Hollywood that gasoline's in short supply the rising cost of getting by. But I believe in love, I believe in old folks I believe in children, I believe in you. I believe in love, I believe in babies I believe in mom and dad, and I believe in you. |
