My hobbies include many things, but my motorcycles are more a way of life than a hobby. I have four bikes, all Harley Davidsons, what else? The Sportster I bought in 2000 when living in Abu Dhabi and imported back to the USA when I returned. The 1948 Panhead was a loving purchase from a fellow in Portland, Oregon. It is my "birthday bike" having been produced in October 1948, one month before I came off the assembly line. As a surprise, my wife bought me a 2003 VROD as a birthday present, which, when you read the VROD page you will find out is now a 2004 VROD. After several years of searching, last year I was able to locate an impecable XR1000 with only 2500 miles on it. You can never have too many bikes I guess.
I ride a lot, having riden to the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota both in 2000 and 2005 (with Bonnie) , the Laughlin River Run (with Bonnie), three trips to Utah for fun, the Iron Horse Rally at Four Corners, twice to the Las Vega BikeFest and three times to the Rocky Point, Mexico Rally. More than I can list here.

1948 Panhead. First year of the Pan engine. EL Engine has been stroked with FL crank, Andrews B cam, Primo primary belt drive, juice rear end, S&S B carb, forks by Frank, custom seat, powder coat by Arizona Powder, paint by Pete. Also added an oil filter from a 54 pan. My chopper. |
