Heather and I had yet another mind blowing holiday on Kythera. Great food in Locanda, Karvounades with our friends the Calligeros, busked in Potamos Market and sold lots of cassettes. Currently planning to tour some of the Kytherian Associations with our
usic and slide show in March-April 1999. Roll on the time when we can say "Stuff work" and spend much longer on the island. This is a great home page!!!!

What a great surprize!!!!!!!!! Bravo on the website. My cousin george Kalligeros from Michigan sent me the link. My dad was a (tzamourdis) from Lower Livadi, I am 47 years old, have 2 childred, a girl 18 and a boy 13 both of who are very familiar and have visited the island several times. I am a past president of the Kytherian association of NY. Also if anyone is interested I have collected some real Kytherian music done on a very professional level, the best I have ever heard... if interested E-mail me for more info... again keep up the work on the site.

This is wonderful. I just stumbled onto this today. My mother's parents were from Christoforianika and Trifillianika. I was born in Charleston, SC, and raised in Baltimore, MD. I am a professor of sociology at the University of Minnesota, Morris. Since 1990 I have been involved in a study of the construction of ethnicity among women of Kytherian heritage. I have interviewed 95 women of such heritage living in the United States, Australia and on Kythera.
Their ages: 21-95 at the time I interviewed them. I am now in the process of writing a book about what I learned. As I go through my data, I am becoming "homesick" for Kythera. Thank you, Thank you for doing this.

Nice surprise! Delighted to run into your Kythera page. I am a semiretired high school teacher (I still teach a chemistry class at Macomb Community College in the Greater Detroit area). I was born in Strapodi, finished Gymnasion Kyhiron in 1953, and have degrees from Bowling Green State Univ. and Ohio State University. Have visited Kythera every summer 1984 to 1997.
