My intent is to go on as if Legends never happen because nothing really happened in that game, and because I was the last one in charge of Stronghold. I intended to do a lot with the game and thanks to MANY circumstances left. The stories I managed to relocate are linked here if you need referances. My take on them was that they were a tad biased and I wanted to see more of the characters that actually did something in them, that is why I have created this game. That said, this story is pretty long so I have provided a Short Version.
The year 2156 saw many changes for Unit #16. KENT, who had been their leader for so long finally retired and left his old classmate Zila Artison in charge.
Under the command of Zila, the Starcake Faction became a real squad, under the leadership of Eden, Shadowmaster, and Goliath. Alpha Squad's Covert Ops team known as Xi also became it's own squad, under the leadership of the now returned Sorn, and his new partner MidKnight.
All seemed to be going alright. Routine missions, retirements, promotions all finally happened. Omega Squad came under the new command of Wolfe and Donovan, and Alpha was given to Crys Tahlgard who chose Marc Uno as his Second In Command.
Then Hunter SpyNet began recieving coded signals from some unknown location. After working several weeks to decode the messages they foudn that they originated from near Hunter Unit #16. Hunter Inteligence handed the assignment to their nearest group. What was to come would be bigger than they ever dared to think.
Was this what it had all led up to? Was this going to finally be the end of the clone of one of the most evil men the earth had ever seen? Many Hunters found themselves wondering this as Unit #16's squads all joined forces for one big mission.
The first group was made up of Alpha, Omega, and Gamma; led by Zila Artison was to meet head on with the attack on New Orleans. The other was made up of squads: Xi and Delta [aka The StarCake Faction] and it was headed up by Horus and Artemys Archer. They would infultrate the actual base of the insane cloned Wily.
All the while nobody realized that it was a set-up. Dr. Wily had been feeding their SpyNet false information through his new AI Theta in hopes of bringing out the Hunters and weakening their numbers. Then he would realese his Ultimate Rogue Bots upon them while they were recovering from their losses.
The Theta Base was in all actuality an old reploid factory that had been burried in the Great Lake Pontchartrain Battle only 15 years prior. Wily managed to re-activate it after installing Theta [who kept the sudden usage of power unnoticed by any officials] and began making small destroyer bots, the likes that no one had seen since the days of the first Wily and Dr. Thomas Light.
He bided his time, and personally designed the URBs on the side, beta testing their designs on new and improved versions of the old Robot Masters. Finally reaching near perfection with Ballade and Forte Bass. A third body was still awaiting programming when Wily decided it was time to launch his first major strike.
Theta sent out the word to the SpyNet and the trap was spring- or so he thought.
Wily neglected to monitor all of Theta's activity. In 'her' quest for knowledge 'she' found something 'she' never knew existed. Another entity like herself. 'He' went under the name of Delta. Being another AI, and totally unlinked to the Hunters, Theta shared all her information with Delta in exchange for knowledge. What Theta didn't know was what a Meglomaniac the other AI could be...
Delta liked the idea of this fight of Wily's, but he didn't want Wily to get his way. The world would belong to Delta!
He too began too send out information. Only this info's destination was the Maverick SpyNet. Now the trap was trully set.
In the middle of the attack on New Orleans, Ballade joined the battle and began to cause serious losses among the Hunters. Just as things were looking their bleakest, several Maverick Squads led the charge against Ballade and his Wily Minions, completely turning the tables on Wily's forces.
Back at the base, Forte Bass led the attack against Xi and the SCF. The Covert Ops group was caught totally unawares and was joined by the SCF. Wily, in a last ditch effort not to have his URBs destroyed told Theta to self destruct and fled the scene.
Theta was at a loss. 'She' was self-aware. 'She' liked being alive, or whatever it was 'she' was. Not wanting to dissappoint 'her' master, but wanting to survive, Theta downloaded 'herself' into the remaining URB and also fled the scene, only to find herself in the middle of a battle between Unit #16 and the Mavericks that had been led to the area.
Never before having felt emotions, Theta found herself consumed with rage that Wily would abandon her and swore that she'd make him pay. As Forte and Wily attempted to escape in Wily's transport Theta used the untested Concusion Plasma Cannon and blew the vehicle to pieces, killing Wily, and injuring her 'brother' Forte.
Furious that somebody would try to claim what the Mavericks had been working so hard for, Unit Commander Reine De'Glace attacked the injured Forte. While being a force to be reckoned with, she had met more than her match. Using his emense URB streangth Forte Bass crushed her skull in right in front of Maverick and Hunter alike. As he left he called back to the injured and confused reploids and biologicals.
"Don't try and follow me. I don't want any part in your war."
Patching up and going home, the Hunter and Maverick forces found themselves considerably weakened. Hunter intelligence collected Ballade's body in hopes of creating some kind of weapon to give their troops an edge over the new enemy, just in case Forte ever came back.
A break-through was thought to be found in a new EMP bomb they were producing in Africa. Proto-type plans for the bombs were delivered to ZIla Artison code named after some sweet trear. Nobody ever suspected that Unit #16's own SCF would be the ones to steal the plans! Zila and Horus chased down the group with extreme haste, but unfortunately at Dopplertown they were rescued by their friend and SCF member Shadowmaster. To make matters worse, the Hunters weren't the only ones who knew about the bombs.
Theta, having turned to Delta as her only friend practically hand-delivered the URB Specs to the evil AI. Before he could make use of this new gift however, he was visited by some very unexpected guests.
According to these versions of the Skynxx twins, Scarlette and Crimson, they where raised by Delta in another dimension where a broken time traveling device had made things very sloppy. They wished to bring their Delta into this timeline and with the use of both Deltas take over the world. Seeing them as his new underlings he let the twins make their time traveling machine. He neglected to tell them about Theta though, and wanting to utilize the new suped-up reploid plans Delta sent out one of many pet projects- the Valkyries. They were to retrieve the only working EMP bombs and deliver them to the AI.
The reploid known as Shatlan headed up the all-female team re-designed by Dr. Kurt. He hoped for an easy mission, then he and the girls would escape the tentacled clutches of Delta and live their own life. Perhaps take Kurt with them.
Shatlan's dreams of a brighter tomorrow were nearly crushed by the iron fist of Bishop (Horus' brother) who led the team in charge of protecting the top secret weapons. Luckily the girls proved themselves much more apt to fighting then the last time around and they managed to complete their mission.
Meanwhile the alternate versions of Crimson and Scarlette had set loose their 'pet' Skorn to take care of this dimensions versions of the twins. Little did they know that from the time-line they'd just destroyed, Evan Skynxx had sent his niece Akai, and eventually himself back in time to stop them. In fear of messing up the time-line he knew and loved, Evan donned a mask and told Akai not to reveal who she was to her father... Things don't always go as planned.
Skorn started his hunt with Scarlette Skynxx. Unknown to him, she was still recovering from her dealings with the first versions of the Valkyries and wasn't all there in the mind. Not realizing her danger, she approached the strange clown-like reaper and was raped by the maniac. Her long-time, on-and-off boyfriend Adam found her and returned her to her parent's new house and went to find the scum.
Meanwhile Crimson Skynxx fled to his old cabin, only to find 'clowny locks' in his bed. Not one to hurt a child, he listened to her a while. Then like some bad anime a huge transport landed on his snow-covered lawn. Evan Skynxx has traveled back in time to save his brother and his sister-in-law after finding that the alternate twins planned on killing them and thus ending the Skynxx line. What he didn't count on was Crimson falling in love with the slave Akumu a bit earlier than he remembered and rescuing her. The entire mission was a mess!
They all flew back to where Mako Skynxx, forefather to the entire clan and his fiancee Jezebelle were living. Mako refused to hear anything about the future, only to help them stop Delta. He had retired and had no plans to ruin the future. Evan fought desperately with the urge to reveal himself to the father that had died when he was only 10- alas he knew his father's wishes were right and left to stop the AI menace.
The Valkyries returned to Dr. Kurt to find out that the Deltas had big plans for them. Shatlan decided it was high time they all left this life behind. Kurt warned that they'd be chased for the rest of their lives, but even he had to agree that running was better than doing the squid's dirty work and decided to go with them.
Then one night in a jealous rage, Black killed Kurt, claiming he was the one responsible for Shatlan choosing Green over her. Thus becoming an outcast from the group, Black left.
Delta began to produce his URB Droid army while the alternate Delta began to take a little too much control. The Delta of this time found it hard to compensate since he had brought the Delta Twins along with their mother Jezebelle. This Jezebelle was a ghost of the Jezebelle Delta knew from his time-line. Completely loyal and subserviant to the alternate Delta. Delta decided that he'd rather loose all the information he could gain from this Delta then loose his world. He would rule it, and he alone. He would not share the world, even witht he likes of himself.
Even had managed to amass an all Skynxx team, gathering his Uncles Horus and Bishop. His brother and sister, and as they readied for the battle at Crimson's cabin they got a call they never expected. Mako, Jezebelle, and this time's Delta were all jumping in. One last mission before the clown hung up his scarabs forever.
Once inside the AI's base, the family was confronted by hundreds of drones. Luckily this time's Delta taken the plans for the URBs with him and they were only slowed by the drones. Unfortunatelly Evan was captured and brought to face the main portion of the AI. In his mobile drone body, the alternate Delta was no longer plugged into the rest of the AI systems. This was how he managed to travel through time. He had gotten a little cocky and planned on killing his youngest nephew himself. Seeing his only chance Even removed his helmet and turned to the alternate version of his mother who stood by silently.
"I know you're not my real mother, but in another time you are- I just wanted to say goodbye. You did a good job in that time."
Delta slapped the youth and was about to deliver a fatal blow when something happened to his Jezebelle.
"I've been wasting my life with you... I was happy with Mako. My children would have been fine raised with him! You liar!"
She came at him, wing-blades firing and fire cannons blazing. Even tried to stay and help her, but she knocked im through a door yelling, "RUN!"
As he fled the room drones dropped all around him, and the electronic voice echoed through the entire building, "5 minutes till self-destruct!"
The family made haste to Evan's ship, as they where boarding the alternate twins began to blast at the entry ramp. Staying behind Horus made sure his family got on safely. The Skynxx family barely escaped with their lives, Delta from this time was nowhere to be found, and they didn't even find a trace of Horus among the wreckage when they returned.
To make matters even stranger, nobody could explain just how the self-destruct sequence had been implamented, and since Delta never shared his information of Theta nobody tried to find the AWOL AI.
Now, 5 years after the Stronghold War Maverick Hunter and Maverick alike find themselves at war with Delta the monster AI from the future and his new URB Drones.
