Where is the series filmed?
Season 1 of Monk was shot in Toronto, while Season 2 will be shot in Los Angeles. There are also occasional but very infrequent location shoots in San Francisco, where the series is set.
Is the series or any of its characters based on a book or movie?
No. While the writers may draw on classic detectives such as Sherlock Holmes for inspiration, Monk and all of the characters in the series are original creations.
Will the show be released on video or DVD?
Yes. The two hour pilot episode of Monk, "Mr. Monk and the Candidate," is now available on DVD - order your copy now. Any information on the release of the entire first season on DVD will be posted on this site as soon as it's announced.
What is the name of the theme song, and who is it by?
