OK. I put my cards on the table. Jason Robinson must start next Saturday. There. I have said it. There is no question about it. He is the highest points scorer on tour by some distance - and remember, he is not a kicker - and his defence is almost as good as his attack. He should be joined in the back three by James and Balshaw.

While the New South Wales Waratahs field a side that includes nine players from the team that walked all over the Lions last Tuesday, the Lions could be an entirely different team. It is working well and coming together wonderfully. They dominated and looked like a team on fire rather than one that has lost its shape as it did earlier in the week.

There are encouraging signs to be seen all over the pitch. Dawson had a great game and has put himself back in the frame, O'Driscoll must be on Henry's list for a Test start and Greenwood who cam off early has a great chance of being his partner in the centre next Saturday.

The Lions where given an early advantage when Tom Bowman was sent off after 18 seconds - although this was a harsh call to be fair to NSW. The Lions failed to take any real advantage of this and when he returned only had a two point advantage. But this looks like a very different side from the one that was destroyed by Australia A on Tuesday. NSW have nine players in the squad who played last week - but you would hardly know it. The Lions outplayed this side and looked ready to take on the Wallabies next week.

Their first try came from a wonderful move that was started by Danny Grewcock - surely a Test starter along with Johnson - that saw Greenwood give a cheeky inside pass to GOD to go over. No messing. O'Driscoll must start. The Lions second and third tries wrere scored by the amazingly impressive Jason Robinson. This is a team game and this Lions squad is playing as a team and for one another. But there will always be those individuals that shine and the Sale winger was one of those of players. It all went right for him today and his first two tries in the first half were matched by his phenomenal tackling in defence. Play him as a starter Graham Henry.

The second half was an almost entirely different game. Its scrappiness highlighted by the fact that we saw the first red card of this tour for McRae which was rapidly followed by a group yellow carding of four players - two a team. That saw the Australians down to 12 men while the Lions were reduced to 13. But it was not a good half for either team. The Lions while taking a relatively easy victory will not be happy with this performance. Henry will have words and there is certainly work to do.

Edmonds' try for NSW after 77 minutes was a case of the Lions taking their foot off the gas big time. There was no excuse for it and Dawson and Perry were hopeless in defence to allow Edmonds to stroll over. The result was not in doubt about the result - but henry and co will explain how essential it is that these guys play an 80 minute game. That could very easily be the difference between Test victory or a 3-0 drubbing by the Wallabies.

There is clearly no love lost between Bob Dwyer and Graham Henry. Great stuff.
