The purpose of this document is to assist the Parochial Church Council (PCC) to provide and maintain a standard of safety, health and welfare that is considered to be best practice and complies with the relevant legislation, to protect the church family and visitors from forseeable hazards.
These aims and objectives will be achieved by commitment on the part of the Rector, Churchwardens and PCC by ongoing assessment, evaluation and control of potential hazards.
Contractors and visitors are expected to accept and abide by the church's Health and Safety procedures and policies.
A Health & Safety Officer will be appointed annually by the PCC to ensure compliance with this policy document and future revisions. This policy document will be reviewed annually by the PCC and amended in light of best practice and changes in legislation.
This policy document was approved by the PCC on 18th March 2002.
