Children's Policy

"All those working or seeking to work with children will be properly recruited, trained and supported, and will be subject to whatever supervision is appropriate".

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) adopts The Policy on Child Protection as laid down by The House of Bishops. The relevant sections of that Policy Document are attached as an appendix to this section.

The PCC is made aware of all Youth groups activities and signifies its acceptance of the potential risk by minuting such at its regular meetings.

The PCC approves the selection of all Youth Leaders and Volunteer Helpers and maintains an appropriate register of such appointments. The register is to be maintained indefinitely.

All Youth leaders and Volunteer Helpers must sign a declaration. (see appendix)

At least two responsible leaders must be present at all times during youth group sessions. Leaders and Volunteer Helpers are advised to avoid "one to one" activites with youth group members.

The PCC will ensure that the Church Youth Groups are registered with and comply with the rules of Bedfordshire County Coucil.
