1999/2000 President Neil Fraser Secretary Beverley Donoghoe/Mal Taylor Treasurer David Bristow 2000/2001 President Jim Kefford Secretary Mal Taylor Treasurer Corrie Parkinson The Rotary Club of Noosa Heads Daybreak chartered on 19 May 1999 after a whirlwind five months from the concept to Charter Night. Our parent club, the Rotary Club of Noosa Heads, had a member resign early in 1999, suggesting that the evening meetings were too difficult for family people and many business people. That sparked a round of meetings and it was agreed that perhaps it was time to see if the community would support a Rotary Club that met in the mornings. The idea was right for the time and 77 people showed up at the first meeting of interest in April, 1999. Of those attending, 52 committed to join the new club. And a month later the Rotary Club of Noosa Heads Daybreak became official. Searching through the community for meeting venue was concluded with the generous support of the Reef Hotel, overlooking sunrise on Laguna Bay. Neil Fraser was elected as the first Club President and served from Charter night through to June, 2000. During the club's first year, the club embraced the Australian School Achiever's Program assisting youth in the community and joined with the Noosa Council to create a skate park, again youth focussed. Steering Charter Committee members from the parent club were, Roy Stone, Denis Daebritz(DG Special Representative), Kevin Bowe, Harold Flewellen and Geoff Bone, with Neil Fraser, Jim Kefford, Derek Cunningham, Aubrey Cannon, David Bristow and Beverley Donoghoe.
