Last update July 19, 2009

Do you like to sing?

Would you enjoy singing an eclectic German repertoire, from symphonic music to Berlin cabaret? Join our vibrant and friendly chorus while at the same time getting immersed into the rich German music and culture!

Become a member of the Washington Sängerbund, a traditional mixed chorus founded in 1851 in Washington, DC. Join us for inspiring and fun choral singing followed by Happy Hour.

WSB at Building Museum

Rehearsals are on Friday at 7:00pm from late August through early June.
Location: Concord Clubhouse, 2434 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC (Old Europe Restaurant 2nd floor).
Check the phone hotline 202-310-4691 for last minute info.

We are located on the west side of Wisconsin Avenue approximately five blocks south of the National Cathedral (in the block below the intersection of Wisconsin Ave and Calvert St). Click here for a Map.
You can reach us via Metro bus, lines 30, 32, 34, 35, 36.

To join the Washington Sängerbund as a singer just attend our rehearsals. The conductor will help you select the proper voice section. After attending four consecutive rehearsals a new singer will be officially voted in and "sung in" (welcomed with a song).

Non-singing members may come by the clubhouse any time we are rehearsing. We welcome non-singing members as they provide frequently needed assistance at our various functions. We are always grateful for such helping hands.

The Washington Sängerbund is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors that employs the conductor, sets policy, and manages administrative tasks. The Washington Sängerbund performs three to four concerts per season, often with contracted soloists and instrumentalists, or in collaboration with other orchestras or choruses. In addition, the Washington Sängerbund has a cultural/educational component which may include a Fasching Ball (Mardi Gras), Oktoberfest, and other events.

Please visit our other web pages for additional information on our concerts and conductor and cultural/educational events. To be placed on our mailing list to be notified about Washington Sängerbund events go to our
